Baby Development in 
22 Week 

Your baby is growing in size and muscle development has also increased. You will also feel an increase in baby’s movements. Hair growth on head and eyebrows of baby will increase and nails will also grow which will be sharp. New layers of brown fat are added to baby’s body which will help to keep baby warm. Iris, which is colored and pigmented portion of baby’s eye has still not permanently formed and is completed in month nine of pregnancy. Brain development will also take place rapidly.

Diet

Protein intake is essential as protein is made up of amino acids which are building blocks of human cells and are responsible for formation of your baby’s face.  Make sure that along with protein you are also taking vitamin B6 in your diet as it helps to break down the proteins. Sources of protein are meat, poultry, eggs, cheese, nuts and yougurt etc.

Exercise

In pregnancy, daily exercise is good for health. You can choose to go for a walk for even 15 minutes. Along with a walk, also increase intake of fiber rich foods. It will help you to stimulate bowels and fight constipation.

Precautions

  • In week 22, avoid the following things:

        • Avoid strenuous exercise that can cause injury to your stomach.
        • Avoid taking any supplements or medicines without consulting your healthcare provider.
        • Avoid unpasteurized milk and dairy products.
