Baby Development in 18 Week
You are now in month 5 of pregnancy and only 4 months left when you will finally hold baby in your arms. At 18 weeks, your baby is about the length of a tomato. Your baby’s bones will harden especially the leg bones and inner ear bones. The baby can now hear what’s happening in the outside world. Baby can hear loud noises outside the womb. By this time, your baby has also mastered the art of yawning. When you are 18 weeks pregnant, your baby’s nervous system is maturing rapidly. A network of nerves covered with myelin that helps speed messages from one to another nerve cell and forms more complex connections.
During your second trimester, it is important to eat foods that are rich in calcium, magnesium and vitamin D. These nutrients will help your baby grow strong bones and teeth. Also eat foods rich in omega-3 oils as it will help in baby’s brain development
Staying physically active is good for both mother and baby. The shape of your body will change and you will find it difficult to maintain an exercise routine. One thing you should avoid is exhaustion.
In pregnancy, only light exercises will be beneficial for your body and avoid any exercise after which you will extremely tired and exhausted.
You should practice doing any exercise for 15 minutes and three sessions per week.
Stays hydrated and drink plenty of fluids and water.
Try engaging yourself in physical activity on a daily basis even if it means going for a walk for only 15 minutes.
