During pregnancy, you will feel anxious and worried about what will happen to you and your baby in these 9 months. Baby Development in 
15 Week 

In 2nd trimester, your baby grows faster than any other time in their life. The body of the baby grows bigger so that their head and body are in proportion. The face becomes much more defined and hair, eyebrows and eyelashes are beginning to grow. Their eyelids stay closed over the eyes. The baby by this time will have their own individual fingerprints as lines on their skin are formed. The fingernails and toenails are growing and their hands can grip.  With each passing day, fetus will look more like the baby in your mind and dream. B y this week, ears will move towards the permanent position. Baby’s skin is developing but is very delicate. The muscles will also develop.


In 2nd trimester, your baby is growing fast so you should increase intake of following foods:

  • Iron rich foods like meat, fish, eggs and dark leafy vegetables.
  • To prevent constipation and for regular bowel movements, increase intake of fiber rich foods like fish, apples, bananas, broccoli, green peas etc.
  • Calcium rich foods like milk, yogurt, broccoli, almonds etc.
  • Foods rich in zinc like spinach, chicken, beans etc. Zinc rich foods are important for healthy nervous system.
  • Omega fatty acids are important for eye and brain development of fetus. Vegetable oil and almonds are good source of omega fatty acids.
  • Increase intake of fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Drink milk for intake of vitamin d.


Being active boosts your health. If you were not really active before pregnancy then it’s not too late to start now.

  • Start doing exercises like walking and yoga.
  • Start with 10 minutes and build up to 30 minutes, if possible.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Avoid exercises that cause pain.


  • You should take care of a few things when your second trimester will start. You should remember a few tips like:

    • Stay well hydrated.
    • Pregnancy hormones will make your skin a bit sensitive. You should wear sunscreen while going outside.
    • Before taking any medicine to get relief from any problem, make sure that you discuss that medicine with your doctor.
    • You should visit dentist as clean teeth and gums prevent dangerous infections that can affect your pregnancy.
